The Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced that 93 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives while 122 recovered from the disease.
According to the agency, of the new cases, 50 were from the greater Male’ region, 21 cases from residential islands and 22 cases from operational resorts.
Currently, the island nation records a total of 25,617 virus cases of which 2,990 are active cases, in addition to 22,551 recoveries and 67 deaths.
On March 12, 2020, WHO classified the spread of COVID-19 as a global pandemic. To date, the new strain of novel coronavirus has infected over 136.4 million people and claimed over 2.94 million lives around the world. However, out of those infected, more than 109.6 million people have recovered.
