Holidaying or vacationing is not reserved only for couples, honeymooners of larger groups of friends traveling together for some excitement, it is for everyone who can afford the time to do it. This is why several holidaymaker groups are in fact, families that travel together to experience the world outside.

Parents along with their children often travel together to coveted and popular destinations to enjoy their holidays. When it comes to picking places, families with kids tend to opt tourist properties that best cater to their children. After all, if the children are left bored throughout their vacation, then the whole trip would have been for nothing.

Today, we are listing out some of the top-tier properties in the Maldives that, aside from being favorite spots for couples and honeymooners, stand out from the pantheon of tourist resorts for their dedication towards catering to the young travelers.

One&Only Reethi Rah

The first one in the list is a luxury, top-tier holiday destination nestled in North Male’ Atoll. Surrounded by azure sky and turquoise waters, the beautifully scattered villas across the beach and the over-water villas immersed in the Indian Ocean waters are home to excited travelers flocking from different corners of the world.

Consider the resort as your ‘vacation home’ for its warm and tranquil nature, its friendly staff and soothing atmosphere. The resort is versatile in its features since just about anyone can call it their favorite tourist hotspot, especially kids.

One&Only Reethi Rah features a designated kids club that opens from 10:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. and children between the ages of four and nine years are welcome to gather and engage in fun and frolics. Not only does One&Only provide a designated hotspot for kids but for teenagers as well. These clubs are designed to suit the rhythm and beats of the highly active young minds who would prefer to keep themselves busy during their vacations. Activities from the clubs range from safe snorkeling trips to creative arts and crafts sessions, cookery classes that teach children to make sushi and chocolate and even a pottery class where the children can ignite their inner sculptors.

The game-changing destination in a “seriously stylish island setting” is all about providing inclusive holiday fun for everyone – and that includes the little travelers as well. Kandima Maldives caters to the young holidaymakers through their designated kids club which welcomes children between the ages three to 12 while kids below the age of three can join, accompanied by their parents or a babysitter.

The kids club opens its doors everyday from 09:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. while kids can have self-service drinks and snacks at the club during their day out of fun filled activities alongside other kids staying in the resort. Activities specific for kids include cookery classes, learning Maldivian culture with songs and dances, coral planting initiatives and mini-Zumba and mini “Kandiland” Olympics, art attack challenges, rock painting as well as learning the Maldivian local language; Dhivehi.

The resort features six family sky-studios with connected lounge area, however they studios are best suitable for families with older children.

This is one of the largest tourist resorts in the Maldives and it facilitates the young holidaymakers while staying true to the resort’s geographical identity; as Kuramathi Island Resort has one of the biggest kids’ clubs in the country. The children are served a mini buffet at the resorts’ main restaurants as well as at the kids’ club.

The specialty of the kids club in Kuramathi Resort Maldives is their ever-changing range of activities – which change on a daily basis.

As for accommodation for families with children, the resort includes two bedroom-beach houses which are two-story villas with separate living spaces making them the perfect abodes for larger families with more than two kids. The resort also features a designated pool for children while babysitting service is provided through the kids club.

Another top-tier luxury tourist resort in the Maldives that welcomes travelers from all colors of life. The resort is tropical Shangri-la that is high on tranquility and serenity, with guests assured to experience a soulful journey of self-revitalization during their stay.

As for the kids, the island’s emotional hospitality and personalized wellness are made special through a dedicated children’s club for kids between the ages of three to 12 while children under the age of three are welcome with direct supervision of an adult. The kids club opens at 09:00 a.m. and stays open until 13:00 p.m., and opens an hour later at 14:00 p.m.and stays open until 18:00p.m..

Six Senses Laamu feature kids-specific menus which are available in all of the dining venues while infant menus are available upon request. In addition to this, a daily changing children’s menu is available at the resort’s Chill Bar and Longitude (rotated weekly). The children’s special menu includes wellness and healthy options for kids as well as all-time classics.

The resort features family pool villas which include a study area and accommodation for up to two children with adjoining bathrooms and these villas come with their private pools and private access to the beach. The resort has two Bedroom Lagoon Beach Villas and two Bedroom Ocean Beach Villas specifically to host larger families with children. However, Six Senses Laamu lack a designated children’s pool which they make up for by having a specific children’s section partitioned at the resort’s main pool.

Soneva Fushi

This one is as rare as it gets in terms of vacation experiences and the resort is unique in every possible way – even in terms of the children’s club.

Unlike most other entries in this list, Soneva Fushi lacks a traditional kids’ club, but children are still able to enjoy their own time at the “Den” inside the resort’s “Jungle Club” which is Soneva’s main hub for activities and Fun-for-All. The Jungle Club is rich with exciting facilities that include a chocolate room, cinema, an observatory and diving libraries among several other features.

The “Den” can be enjoyed by children aged between four to 17 years old while children below the age of four and non-swimmers are required to have a guardian present. The Jungle Club opens at 10:00 a.m. and stays without closure for lunch hour, until 17:00 p.m.. The resort provides specific meal options for kids and infants while children are able to enjoy their lunch at the Jungle Club as well.
