Bank of Maldives (BML) announced changes to their banking hours until May 15, to comply with new restrictions in light of the COVID-19 surge currently faced by Maldives.

In a statement by BML, they revealed that branches and services centers will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 0930hrs to 1200hrs. This decision was made to comply with the newer restrictions made by both Health Protection Agency (HPA) and Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

However, BML assured that essential services such as international transfers and BML cheques will be processed. Requests received before 1100hrs will be processed within the day, unless it is the weekend or a public holiday.

BML has informed that their customers can take online requests for services in Male' through QueueBee app, and urged to check the waiting position online before visiting.

Account Opening Center, Loan Center and Business Center will provide services through pre-booked appointments, BML said. Appointments can be made through their website, BML said.

As the COVID numbers are increasing, BML encouraged everyone to bank from home when they can.
