An individual has been arrested for the alleged vandalism of the KFC outlet in Malé.

A 48 year old man has been arrested for allegedly shattering the glass shopfront of the KFC outlet on Ameenee Magu on Tuesday night, a police media official said. The man was arrested under a court order.

While the man was arrested over his alleged involvement in the vandalism of KFC, a case of shattering the glass storefront of KFC was reported to police last night as well.

A police media official said that the incident was reported to the authority at 04:32 hrs early this morning, noting that the glass shopfront of the KFC outlet in front of Masjid Al-Furqan on Ameenee Magu had been shattered with a stone.

Recently, several protests against Israel have been held outside KFC and Pizza Hut in Malé, calling for a boycott of these businesses in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Last year, vandals also entered and damaged the premises of KFC, Pizza Hut, and the Coca-Cola godown.
