The heavy rains continuing since this morning have caused the streets of Male' to become flooded, with water having seeped into many residences and shops. Police and MNDF officers are out now, providing assistance.

Main roads Majeedhee Magu and Ameenee Magu, as well as most of the other roads heavily flooded, pedestrians and motorists are facing difficulties in travelling within the island.

Residences on roads that generally see heavy flooding, such as Kan'ba Aisa Rani Hin'gun and Izzuddeen Magu are facing flood damage with the water having flowed inside.
