Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen, on Friday, inaugurated laboratory services at Landhoo Health Centre, Noonu Atoll.
The 1,100 residents of Landhoo previously travelled to Noonu Atoll Hospital in Manadhoo to acquire such services.
According to the ministry, the new laboratory services are expected to provide convenience for patients that regularly receive treatment for Thalassemia. This includes four patients in Landhoo, three in Maalhendhoo and four in Maafaru.
In addition to Landhoo, islands from which laboratory services are available include Manadhoo, Velidhoo, Kendhikulhudhoo and Holhudhoo.
