The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has temporarily resumed the work of the FIFA-appointed Normalization Committee at Galholhu Stadium as their office is in a dilapidated state.

Yesterday, the committee held its first meeting in the stadium's VIP room. For online meetings with FIFA’s financial consultants, the committee members are required to gather in one location.

The interior of the FAM building had been in a state of disrepair until recently.

Former FAM president Ahmed Thorig (Tom) recently posted photos on social media showing the poor condition of the building's interior.

The photos reveal a collapsing ceiling, damaged furniture, and damaged computer equipment. Medals and jerseys intended for tournaments were also shown to be damaged and discarded around the premises.

Some media outlets reported that a group of thugs had broken into the FAM offices and caused the damage.

However, under the direction of former footballer and senior executive of Maldives Soccer Mates, Ahmed Shareef (Maadey), the interior of the building was cleaned and repainted.

The Normalization Committee currently lacks an official office space and does not have computers to work on.

Mihaaru reports that the committee members are scheduled to meet with Sports Minister Abdullah Raafiu tomorrow. It is expected that they will discuss the arrangement of an office for their work.

The Normalization Committee's mandate is to stabilize the association within a year and lead it to an election. The committee is also tasked with recovering funds lost during the tenure of suspended former FAM president Bassam Adil Jaleel.
