Dhiraagu has announced that Junior Surfing Champion Kayan Abdulla Areef will be the Dhiraagu Youth Brand Ambassador.
Kayan was appointed as Ambassador at a special ceremony held at the Artificial Beach yesterday afternoon. The letter of assignment was handed over by Dhiraagu Director, Brand and Marketing Communications Mohamed Mirushan Hassan.
Mirushan said that Dhiraagu always strives to empower youth in various fields, and expressed hopes that Kayan will see further development and success in the field of surfing.
Alongside the Brand Ambassador appointment, Dhiraagu also held activities yesterday to mark World Ocean Day in collaboration with the Maldives Surfing Association.
Children who participated in the event were given lessons on skills needed to begin surfing, information about surfing points, and preventive actions that can be taken for any risks that may be posed while in the ocean.
The Dhiraagu Youth Brand Ambassador program was begun last month. Their first Youth Brand Ambassador is Fathimath Dheema, who recently became the first table tennis player and athlete to qualify for the Olympics.
