Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Munu Mahawar has paid a farewell call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
As High Commissioner Mahawar's term in the Maldives comes to an end, he paid a courtesy call on the President where discussions were held regarding the 'A Vision for Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership' that the two countries had entered into during President Muizzu's recent State Visit to India.
President Muizzu thanked the High Commissioner for his contributions towards strengthening relations between India and the Maldives.
High Commissioner Mahawar reaffirmed India's support for Maldives and its development and emphasized that the President's collaborative approach had played a significant role in leading the countries to mutually address shared challenges, while further building bilateral ties.
Possible avenues of expanding cooperation over the coming years were also discussed in the meeting.
High Commissioner Mahawar assumed office as the Indian representative to Maldives on November 17, 2021.
India has now appointed Shri G. Balasubramanian as his successor.
