ROOMNET, a UK-based company that partners with Apple to provide hotels, guesthouses and resorts with IPTV services is now available in the Maldives.

The company provides its services though Apple TV devices, and offers a selection of streaming platforms, various channels, all the apps on the Apple App Store, and a wide variety of video content that can be consumed without any lagging - a service much needed for the ever expanding tourism industry of the country.

In a statement by ROOMNET, James Grant, Vice President, Marketing and Communication of the company said that recent studies show that the consumption of current affairs shows and programme channels as well as sports channels has decreased significantly in the hospitality industry. The observable trend is that tourists prefer to watch content on streaming platforms, he said.

Grant also added that these days everyone is more familiar with streaming platforms than TV channels, and that TVs are also very digital and more streaming platform oriented - which is why the company's goal is to provide a home experience even when away from home through affordable, accessible and familiar entertainment solutions.

As such, ROOMNET is the modern solution to this issue, the company believes. In addition to all the streaming content, the service is also able to provide access to the contents of mobile devices via Airplay. This means that guests will be able to view the photos and videos captured while on holiday on their TVs and also make FaceTime calls on the big screens.

Information being given on how TVs can be customized via ROOMNET.

All the Apple TV applications available via ROOMNET will be accessible to guests by logging into their own accounts. They will also be able to connect the TV via their own Apple IDs, the company says. However, the device can also be used by those who don't have an Apple account.

Another special feature incorporated into the device is one that allows a complete reboot and automatic logout of all accounts as soon as guests checkout from their rooms.

Additionally, the device, which can be connected to any type of TV, can also be specialised so that guests are able to search and book hotel and resort services through it. It can also be programmed to offer guests with a personalised service by uploading beautiful sceneries of the venues.

ROOMNET's all in one solution also comes with a special, easy to use remote control, that has all the important buttons to provide users with a hassle free experience while navigating through the content options.

Currently there are ten resorts that provide ROOMNET's TV services with many resorts in discussions to take the service onboard as well.

Earlier this month, the company also hosted a networking event 'Connect' with resort executives to widen the scope of its service throughout the tourism industry of the country.
