President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Monday, announced plans to upgrade the regional hospital located in Haa Alifu Atoll to tertiary standard.
President Solih reiterated the government's pledge to develop the hospital while delivering an address at a campaign rally held in Dhidhdhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll, to garner support for Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s candidate running for the Thiladunmathi constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Despite his assurances, President Solih did not reveal additional details regarding the project or specify the time period within which it would be completed.
Other projects scheduled for Dhidhdhoo, including the establishment of an ice plant and tarring of undeveloped roads, was also mentioned in his speech.
The President also stated that the aforementioned projects were only some of those planned for the island and asserted that the constituency would undergo several positive changes in the upcoming five years.
