Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid on Friday met with Singapore's Foreign Minister Dr Vivin Balakrishnan.
In the meeting held at Singapore's Foreign Ministry, Minister Shahid talked about the developments and policy priorities of Maldives since President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih took office in November 2018.
Both the ministers reflected on the existing ties between Singapore and Maldives, and talked about enhancing the bilateral cooperation on different areas that are significant to Maldives.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Dr Balakrishnan warmly welcomed Maldives for rejoining the Commonwealth. He expressed appreciation and encouraged the environmental stewardship of Maldives on international platforms.
Additionally, Minister Shahid appreciated the unwavering support given by Singapore for the development of Maldives.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Maldivian Ambassador to Singapore Dr Abdulla Mausoon and Deputy Ambassador Eman Hussain.
