A man was found dead in Haa Dhaal Atoll Kulhudhuffushi island on Wednesday.
Sources say the man was found dead in his room.
According to an island resident, the young man was last seen on Wednesday morning.
A council member confirmed the report of a death in the island.
"But we also don't know any details yet," councillor added.
Police also refused to comment saying the circumstances surrounding the death were being investigated.
The council member said the man was believed to have died of a drug overdose.
The deceased is reportedly 30 year old Adam Gasim of the same island.
