The government, on Tuesday, opened the applications for membership of the National Integrity Commission (NIC).
According to the President's Office, the deadline for form submission is 1200 hours on February 28, 2019. The application forms can be collected from the President's Office in the capital city of Male' or downloaded from its official website.
Those eligible to submit applications must be over 30 years of age, hold an undergraduate degree and have seven years of work experience. Furthermore, candidates must not have a criminal record for any act warranting corporal punishment in Islamic Sharia.
Ismail Faruhaad, a former NIC member, resigned from his position a month earlier.
NIC acts as a watchdog for four state institutions: Maldives Police Service, Department of Immigration and Emigration, Maldives Correctional Service, and Maldives Customs Service. Members of NIC are chosen for five-year terms.
