A car has been totalled following a high-speed crash on the Sinamale Bridge Highway early Sunday morning.
Maldives Police confirmed that two people were in the car at the time of the incident and no one suffered serious injuries.
The accident occurred around 0300 hrs. There was a 24-year-old male driver and a 20-year-old male passenger. The 24-year-old was revealed to have been licensed to drive.
The driver, upon losing lost control of the car at a high speed, knocked down a street light, crashing into the side railing and coming to a halt on the pavement after ramming into the concrete parapet.
Numerous accidents have occurred on the Sinamale’ bridge since its opening on September 2018.
