The New Ambassador of Malaysia Tan Yang Thai formally presented his credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday at the President’s Office.

During the ceremony, President Solih congratulated Tan Yang Thai on his ambassadorial appointment and expressed confidence that bilateral ties between Maldives and Malaysia will continue to prosper during his tenure.

Furthermore, the President conveyed his appreciation for the continuous support and assistance provided to the people of Maldives by Malaysia over the years. He emphasized on Malaysia’s generous extension of educational opportunities for Maldivians as well.

President Solih noted that Malaysia hosts one of the largest local population overseas.

While meeting the President, Ambassador Tan Yang Thai expressed his gratitude for the warm and traditional welcome he received upon arriving to Maldives.

Ambassador Tan Yang Thai thanked President Solih for allocating a time out of his busy schedule to accept the Ambassadors credentials.

The Ambassador stated that he wishes to increase further cooperation with Maldives.

During the meeting, President Solih requested the Ambassador to convey his regards to the Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahatir Mohamed.
