Maldives Immigration announced that passport applications will be available via E-mail on Sunday.
In a statement released Thursday, Immigration revealed that to apply for passport services online, applicants would have to specify their full name, Identity Card number, and contact number in the subject field of the E-mail.
In addition to the passport application form, copy of their ID card, and a revenue stamp for MVR 10, applicants through E-mail would have to provide the data package copy of their most recent passport and a passport size photo not dating more than a month.
Immigration Controller Mohamed Ahmed Hussein recently revealed that the department was working on finishing an online portal service for passport application before the end of the year.
