Mariyam Naufa, a third-year studying Bachelor of Laws at the University of Westminster, was awarded the 'Outstanding Academic Achievement Award' by Aspiring Solicitors.

Mariyam scored 90 percent in her essay for the Equity and Trust exam, and as a result, she was honoured by Aspiring Solicitors.

The native from Hithadhoo, Addu City, is among five students who received the award this year.

She received the 'Westminster Excellence Award' in 2018 and 2019 for her remarkable academic accomplishments.

Moreover, she achieved a first-class average during her first and second year. She also achieved the best academic results amongst the first year degree students, in 2016.

“Mariyam is an outstanding student, who arrived at Westminster Law School on a full fee scholarship in recognition of her potential”, said the Assistant Head of Westminister Law School, Jeanette Nicholas.

"She has more than shown her early promise, by earning a Westminster Excellence Award and now an Aspiring Solicitors Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. We congratulate Mariyam for her achievements and look forward to news of her future accomplishments", she said.

Mariyam is currently working part-time at the student accommodation of the university. She spends her free time volunteering at her local bookshop.
