Commission searches for 2 people over Afrasheem's murder

The presidential Commission on Investigation of Murders and Enforced Disappearances, on Tuesday, revealed that they are searching for two men in relation to the murder of religious scholar and Ungoofaaru Parliamentarian, Dr. Afrasheem Ali.

The Commission announced the search via a tweet with attached CCTV footage. The footage depicts an individual on a motorcycle near Dr. Afrasheem's residence, who leaves once a second man arrives on site.

The Commission's twitter responses confirmed that it was indeed a change of shift in surveillance prior to his murder.

The commission confirms a change of shifts for Dr. Afrasheem Ali's surveillance prior to his murder.

The grainy, unclear footage makes it difficult to identify the individuals and license plate numbers on their motorcycles.

In addition to Dr. Afraasheem, the brutal murder of blogger Yameen Rasheed and abducted Journalist Ahmed Rilwan are also currently under investigation by the Commission.

Moreover, the Commission had declared that the three cases were connected.

The Commission is probing a total of 24 cold cases, with the aid of foreign experts.
