An elderly man was found dead on the terrace of a row house in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale on Sunday.
Maldives Police Service revealed that the 80-year-old local was already dead when he was taken to the hospital at around 1300 hours.
No further details were revealed about the case.
Recently, many cases of sudden deaths have been surfacing in Maldives.
