President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday returned to Maldives after concluding his first official trip to the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) on Thursday.
The official trip was in response to the invitation extended by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces of the UAE Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
President Solih attended the 2019 Zayed Sustainable Awards and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week during his official trip.
The two countries signed an agreement to form a Joint Corporation Committee in order to strengthen the bilateral relations.
This is President Solih’s second official state visit after assuming office on November 17, 2018.
