President Solih expresses gratitude for Chinese assistance

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday expressed gratitude to China for their invaluable aid to Maldives' socio-economic development in the past.

The President stated this during a meeting held with Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, Zhang Lizhong. He also assured that his government is committed to maintaining the relationship with China.

Ambassador Zhang reiterated President Solih's positive sentiments and expressed wishes to strengthen the existing strong foundation of bilateral relations.

Additionally, the president and Ambassador Zhang discussed the progress of Chinese commercial and economic projects in Maldives.

Both parties expressed optimism that in the coming years, the ties between China and Maldives will witness strengthened corporation on issues of mutual interest and importance.

Furthermore, they expressed hope to see increased number of visits to Maldives from China.

Before concluding the meeting, Ambassador Zhang conveyed warm wishes from the Chinese government to President Solih and the people of Maldives.
