President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih concluded his unofficial three-day trip to Sri Lanka and returned to Maldives late Sunday.
The president had departed Thursday on his first private visit abroad after assuming office.
It is believed that the purpose of the trip was to visit relatives. President Solih's mother currently resides in Sri Lanka.
His first official state visit was to India late last year.
