Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), on Tuesday, announced the appointment of Ismail Hameed as the Managing Director of Maldives Hajj Corporation and Adam Mohamed as MD of Waste Management Corporation Ltd (WAMCO).

Maldives Hajj Cooperation is a state-owned company created in 2013 by a presidential decree. Hajj Cooperation’s aim is to facilitate citizens a safe, peaceful and trouble-free journey to perform the obligatory Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It was founded four years ago after scams involving private companies charging hefty sums for the Hajj pilgrimage came into light.

WAMCO is mandated to provide a sustainable waste management solution throughout the country.
