President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday, appointed Masthoor Husny as the president's representative to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
Masthoor, a lawyer by profession, was presented credentials by President Solih and sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Areef at a function held at the President's Office.
Mohamed Saleem, who previously served as the President's JSC representative, was dismissed in November.
Masthoor served on the legal teams of opposition politicians during the presidency of Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. This includes Parliament Speaker and founder of Jumhooree Party (JP) Gasim Ibrahim.
