Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) announced that Ibrahim Saleem, the former Chairman of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO), succeeding Brigadier General (Rt) Farhath Shaheer.
Farhath Shaheer resigned after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih came into office. In addition, the Deputy CEO of IGMH Mohamed Rishwan also resigned from his post.
Saleem was the Chairman of MACL during President Nasheed’s regime when the airport was handed to the infrastructural company, GMR. Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC) appealed to the Prosecutor General on 16 January 2014 regarding a case of Saleem when he was acting as the Chairman of MACL.
The state, however, did not press charges against him.
