President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and Vice-President, Faisal Naseem have appointed their siblings as personal secretaries.
Fathmath Mohamed Solih, the younger sister of recently elected President Solih was appointed as his personal secretary.
Fathmath has served the president's office for a long period of time and has even filled the post of personal secretary to former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
Nazra Naseem who was appointed as the personal secretary of Faisal Naseem is also his younger sister. Nazra is the wife of Ahmed Mahloof, the recently appointed Minister of Youth. She also served as Faisal’s secretary during the campaign and accompanied him on trips across the country.
The personal secretaries are responsible for carrying out several important tasks such as arranging appointments and meetings for the president and vice president.
Several members of the ruling coalition have been appointed to positions in the President’s Office.
