Local telecom giant Dhiraagu launched high speed fibre connection and its IPTV service 'Dhiraagu TV', in Thulhaadhoo, Baa Atoll.
In addition to Thulhaadhoo, Dhiraagu had introduced these services in Eydhafushi and Dharavandhoo of the same atoll as well.
Dhiraagu initiated the programme 'Fibre to the Home' in 2016, in order to provide high-speed fibre services to all the inhabited islands in Maldives. The telecommunication company already provides these services to the capital city of Male’, Villimale, Hulhumale’ and 41 other islands.
Fibre broadband is the latest technology used to provide broadband services in the world. Dhiraagu Fibre Broadband is currently the fastest internet service in Maldives with speeds reaching up to 100 Mbps and a monthly data allowance of 1TB. According to Dhiraagu, the businesses and residents of Gadhhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, already have gained full access to 'Fibre to the Home'.
Dhiraagu also started a ‘fixed broadband promotion’ last Wednesday, which includes free installation of fibre connection and a further 25 percent discount for three months on fees. This promotion will last until the end of November.
