Sri Lankan band 'The Soul' are hopping over to Maldives, spreading their groovy tunes in Male' and reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' from November 12 till 23.
The band announced their upcoming visit on the Facebook event page 'SOUL UP Maldives!'.
"We are The Soul and we are excited! It has been a dream of ours to tour another country and we can think of no better place than the Maldives to start. That dream is almost upon us with a huge thanks to our good friends Fahthu & Thu helping us secure the gigs there."
The band has recently released their debut album dubbed 'Round & Around'.
The band has scheduled gigs at Jazz Cafe', Club 360, Nouvelle and Rock Chamber, with more locations to be announced in the future.
"To our Sri Lankan fans, you give us the confidence and love we need to go and do our thing out of our shores. We hope to make you and our country proud," the band stated in their social media post.
Local musician Nausheyn Zubair, better known as Fa'thu, is involved in the organization of the events and described the band as being "excited to meet more Maldivians and to make new friends."
"Some of them already have [Maldivian] friends as well, whom they have met through school days and gigs".
Fa'thu is featured in the band's debut album, in their track 'Lucky Child'.
According to Daily News Lanka, "What is different about them is that they have excellent chemistry, and that is in fact, what makes some of the greatest bands."
"The band members know and love each other so well, that communicating through their voices and instruments with each other seems a seamless process, much to the delight of onlookers.
The band ended their announcement with a message to Maldivians anticipating the event, "To our Maldivian friends - we will be dancing with you very soon...much love from The Soul team".
