The Maldivian Coastguard on Wednesday morning located the body of a tourist who was reported missing from a resort in Kaafu Atoll.
The 31-year-old man was found on the seabed by resort divers and the Coastguard, which is the maritime branch of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The man was staying at a guesthouse on the island of Maafushi in Kaafu Atoll. He had been on a visit to the nearby resort, which reported him as missing at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
An MNDF spokesperson stated that they received information that the man, whose nationality has not been revealed, was to depart today. MNDF is currently working to retrieve and transport the body to capital Male'.
