Supreme Court, on Tuesday, has issued a temporary stay order on the conviction of former president Mohamed Nasheed.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed was convicted to a period of 13 years under terrorism charges over arresting former Criminal Court Judge Abdulla Mohamed during his regime.
Prosecutor General's (PG) office had earlier requested the top court to review the 13-year jail sentence imposed on Nasheed and the rulings made in the appeal processes.

Nasheed was granted political asylum in the UK in January 2016 after being allowed to travel there for medical purposes and has since been living in the UK and neighbouring Sri Lanka.
Leader of Adhaalath Party Sheikh Imran Abdulla and former Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim had also filed to review their convictions at the top court.
Sheikh Imran was convicted for terrorism and sentenced for 12 years over allegedly inciting violence after his involvement in the major opposition rally, May-Day parade, in 2015.
Former MP Nazim was sentenced to 25 years in jail on corruption charges, over defrauding the state of MVR1.4 million (US $91,400) by submitting bids on behalf of non-existent companies.
