The Criminal Court sent back the case involving terrorism charges against former President Mohamed Nasheed back to the Prosecutor General's office on Wednesday.
Opposition lawyer Hisaan Hussain, posted a tweet on Wednesday stating that the Court had taken back the second charge and annulled the arrest warrant issued against him in relation to the third.
The second charge of corruption was filed regarding the arrest of incumbent President Yameen Abdul Gayoom during the Nasheed's term in office.
Outgoing President Yameen, at the time the parliament representative for the Mulah constituency, was held by Nasheed at Aarah island for a period of eight days.
The third charge of terrorism concerns the arbitrary arrest of Qasim Ibrahim during his term in office.
Although neither of the last two cases has been tried in court, Nasheed is currently facing a jail sentence of 13 years for charges of terrorism following the arbitrary detention of a judge during his presidency.
The Prosecutor General has yet to make any comment on the issue.
Meanwhile, Nasheed is set to return to Maldives as a 'free man' on the 1st of November.
