A recent audit report by the Auditor General’s office revealed that 105 jobs were allocated without the announcement of job vacancies at state-run utilities company, Fenaka Corporation.

The report signed by Auditor General Hassan Ziyath stated that the 105 jobs were allocated between May 2014 and March 13, 2015.

According to Fenaka, the jobs were given in accordance with the company's operational guidelines and employee regulations.

The audit report highlighted that this practice will pave way for corruption and undue influence, and that public trust in the corporation will decrease.

The report also noted that Fenaka had ceased this practice since September 22, 2016.

AG Ziyath requested companies to be transparent in their employment, and to compile and follow through with a competitive recruitment policy.
