President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s State Owned Enterprises (SOE) transitional sub committee have met with various state owned companies.

The committee handpicked by the President-Elect met with the management of telecom giant Dhiraagu on Saturday, and on Sunday met the officials of Housing Development and Finance Corporation, Allied Insurance, Waste Management Corporation, Island Aviation Services and Male Water and Sewerage Company among others.

The transitional committee is comprised of some experienced business men and financial advisers, including former Finance Minister during President Nasheed’s term, Ali Hashim, State Trading Organization’s former Managing Director Adam Azim, and local businessman Abdul Majid.

The meetings are being held to discuss the current situation of the companies and to ascertain how the new administration can help the enterprises.

Opposition coalition stated that the discussions are proceeding very smoothly.

The committee has met nine out of the 15 state-owned companies.
