The ring road of capital Male City which connects to the landmark Sinamale Bridge will be reopened late Thursday, announced Transport Authority.

In a notice, the authority declared that the areas of the ring road of Boduthakurufaanu Magu along with some connecting streets, which were closed off last June 19 for tarring and other renovations, will be reopened at 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.

However, Transport Authority stated that parking of vehicles will not be allowed between the Industrial Village and Hulhumale Ferry Terminal, as that stretch of the ring road is allocated only for walking and driving purposes.

The ring road from the Industrial Village to Hulhumale Ferry Terminal has been tarred and expanded to 12 meters comprising of four lanes. The road was expanded to ease incoming and outgoing traffic flow of the Sinamale Bridge, which connects Male to airport island Hulhule.

The Sinamale Bridge was unveiled in a colourful ceremony last Thursday night. However, it is scheduled to be opened for public use this Friday.
