Four individuals in Gan, Laamu Atoll, were arrested late Saturday under the accusation of planning a violent attack.
Maldives Police Service's spokesperson stated that the four individuals were arrested in the newly populated ‘Thundi’ district. A 23-year-old, a 24-year-old and two 27-year-olds were arrested Saturday night around 11 p.m.
The police stated that the four suspects were arrested while they were inside a car and that the suspects had worn facemasks. The police further revealed that hoodies and wigs were found inside the vehicle.
While four people were arrested Saturday night, three individuals were attacked and injured in an attack that took place at the ‘Thundi’ district around midnight on Friday, but whether these two cases are related is yet to be uncovered.
