Islamic Ministry has confirmed that all those who have made the pilgrimage to participate in the holy pilgrimage of Hajj through the Hajj Cooperation are in good health.

More than 1,400 Maldivians have made the journey to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, under the four organizations (Jamaaiy) of the Hajj Cooperation; Sisilfaru, Al-haramain, Thazkiya and Zaee. Individuals are split into teams of five for the pilgrimage.

Deputy Minister of the Islamic Ministry, Ali Waheed had stated that the ministry is looking into the status of the pilgrims very closely and that everyone is in good health. Although one pilgrim suffered from fatigue, Minister Ali revealed that after receiving treatment from the hospital, the individual's condition has improved.

“The pilgrim had a known heart condition. Although conditions have not improved enough to be discharged, they are in no way serious.”

Ali has stated that everyone has made their way to the Hill of Arafat without issue and that most have reached the ‘Mina’, confirming that “the rest are expected to make their way to Mina shortly.”

In addition to the Hajj Cooperation, other organizations have also declared the safety of pilgrims in their charge.

The Hajj–goers made the journey to Mina after spending the night at Muzdalifa. Before the trek to Mina, the pilgrims had spent the night in worship at Muzdalifa. The pilgrims then made their way to Mina after Isha, commencing the fifth and last prayer of the day.

The ritual of stone-throwing at Mina and sacrificial slaughtering has been organized for the pilgrims.

Over 2 Million Muslims have made the pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca for the annual Hajj this year.
