Parliamentary recess commences

Following the completion of the second parliamentary term of the year, the members of parliament have gone into recess.

In accordance to the recent revisions brought to the parliamentary regulation, the hearings for the second annual parliamentary term is to be carried out from June 1 of every to the 16 August. Prior to this, the dates for the second parliamentary term was begging from June 1 to August 31.

Although the decision was made to adjust the dates for the second parliamentary term, and members only get 12 days of holiday. The members received a month's holiday prior to the adjustment.

In alignment with the revision made to the parliamentary regulation, the third term will be carried out beginning on August 27 and ending on November 30. The hearings should commence subsequently after holidays marking Eid al-Adha. Prior to the revision, the third parliamentary term was set to carry out beginning from October 1 and ending on November 30.

While the parliamentary terms are divided into three annual terms, there were no adjustments brought to the first term. According to the parliamentary regulations, the dates for the first term are from February 1 to April 30.

There are a total number of 13 hearings carried out during the second term. During these hearings, a number of adjustments were made to the campaign and laws regarding the campaign. Although there were a number of bills to be attended to, the parliamentary recess began before the members attended to these.
