The Department of Higher Education (DHE) opened applications for the 250 scholarship slots from the Malaysian government.
In January 2018, under Malaysia's "Education Global Service" EMGC, 500 scholarships were offered by the country's Higher Education Ministry.
Out of the 500 scholarships, 250 slotted were opened for application in February.
This time Malaysia is offering 10 slots were allocated for Diploma students, 190 slots for Degree students, and 50 slots for Masters Degree. The scholarship offers a 50 percent discount for students' tuitions fees.
While for Diploma, only Aircraft Engineering is offered, a wider range of options is available for Degree and Masters Degree student.
The scholarships are offered from 17 different universities, private and government.
According to the Ministry of Education's state minister Dr. Abdulla Nazeer who is overseeing DHE, a number of the students from the February batch has already commenced their studies under this scholarship programe.
Dr.Nazeer also highlighted that students can submit their applications via a special online portal and DHE office this time. Students will be informed of any other issues, such as missing documents, via text messages.
He added that for students who lack internet access, can use the WiFi provided at the student lounge in Velaanaage, second floor.
Applications will be accepted until September 6.
