A young man died after a dangerous accident in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale on Friday night.
Mohamed Jazlaan was driving his motorcycle when it skidded off a high, speed bump near the construction site of a luxury flat complex. Eyewitnesses reported that he had been thrown a great distance from his motorbike when it hit the speed bump, and was knocked unconscious from the impact.
He was first rushed to Hulhumale Hospital around 9:00 p.m. before he was transferred to Treetop Hospital due to the seriousness of his injuries. He passed away later the same night.
Jazlaan had been an employee at Velana International Airport's Duty Free. According to reports, he had also been part of a racing group.
