Elections Commission stated that after addressing all the complaints submitted regarding the voters' list for the upcoming Presidential Election, a new permanent list will be relapsed next Sunday.
While the deadline for complaint submission expired on June 21, over 1,700 issues were submitted.
EC member Ahmed Akram said that they were working to correct the issues in the voters list, and the new permanent list will be released on Sunday.
He added that they would give 10 days starting from next week Monday to submit any further complaints regarding the new list.
The main complaints submitted were over including names of underage people and deceased people.
Main opposition, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), alone had submitted over 800 complaints.
The current registry lists 263,000 people as eligible to vote.
