The winter theme park being developed in Rasrani Bageecha will be unveiled this coming Eid al-Fitr, announced Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu late Monday.

In a tweet, the minister stated that all preparations were underway to complete and open the Winter Park on Eid al-Fitr, the Islamic holiday to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

The housing ministry has also decided to open a cafe in the vicinity of the Winter Park, which is being developed at the site of the old Kalhuvakaru mosque in the Rasrani Bageecha park grounds.

The Winter Park will feature “snow” and an ice skating rink for children, the government had revealed earlier.

President Yameen had announced the development of the Winter Park after unveiling Rasrani Bageecha, formerly known as the historic “Sultan Park” in capital Male, last August. He had stated then that the revamped park would feature a winter corner for children and that “winter will come to the Maldives.”
