President Yameen conveys Ramadan greetings

President Abdulla Yameen urged all Maldivians to make the best of this year's Islamic fasting month of Ramadan, and to hold on to Islamic manners and practices.

The president addressed the nation with a special message, marking the beginning of the holy month on Tuesday night. In his message, he sent greetings to Maldivians and all the leaders and citizens of the Muslim community.

He noted that this month was an opportunity to engage in Muslims' beliefs and spirituality, and he appealed everyone to be steadfast in the right path.

President Yameen also highlighted that the revelation of Quran, the holy scripture of Islam, took place during Ramadan, and stressed that it was essential for Muslims to engage in good deeds, payers and recitation of the Quran.
