Ooredoo Group becomes first to launch 5G network

Ooredoo Group has made history after it become the first to introduce the world's first commercial 5G network in Qatar.

The telecommunications network that is widely popular in the Maldives introduced Evolution to 5G on Monday, becoming the first operator to provide 5G to its customers.

The network with a speed of 2.3 GBPS is said to be targeted for Qatar's businesses. Ooredoo stated that they are working hard to expand this service to other countries they operate in.

The ultra fast 5G used in Qatar has double the speed of 4G network.

The company stated that this network will aid several technological developments such as the autonomous (driver-less) cars, robotic surgeries and virtual reality games.
