A Bangladeshi national was found dead in the lagoon of an under-construction resort in Kaafu Atoll on Wednesday night.
According to Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the Bangladeshi man had jumped into the water from Olhuhali Resort's jetty to recover his slippers after they fell into the sea. They also stated that he apparently did not know how to swim.
MNDF revealed that their divers found him seven meters underwater while searching for him.
His body was brought to capital Male on Thursday morning.
