State Trading Organization (STO) gifts modern machine to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) laboratory, which would speed up the services greatly.

The state-run hospital spokesperson said that the machine specializes in blood and urine investigations and will bring a lot of progress to laboratory services. They noted that results of investigations can be issued a lot faster once they start using the machine.

During a ceremony held senior Consultant for Pathology Milza said that this machine will take up a lot of the manual work done by staff. She added that reports for tests such as blood cultures which usually take up to seven days will no longer take as much time.

IGMH said that with the help of this machine, they can now easily keep a record of statistics they make using the results of tests.

STO manager Mohamed Wisham said, with the new machine they hope to be able to provide fast laboratory services and most efficient services to patients as the medical field is progressing. He said that they have provided such a machine in order to help IGHM makes those hopes a reality.

Wisham said that STO will provide all the chemicals and other equipment’s required by the machine.
