Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) on Wednesday announced for dockworkers to renew their registry following the changes in cargo clearance prices.
MPL had made the announcement after the economic ministry’s earlier decision to control cargo clearance prices. The limits were imposed to control market prices after new rules banning delivery of goods in the daytime.
Following the rates control, MPL asked dockworkers to renew their registration warning that work licenses will be revoked for those who fail to register within seven days.
Dockworkers earlier went on strike after the regulations to ban daytime delivery of goods came into effect on April 1.
