Local telecom giant Dhiraagu’s net profit for the second quarter of this year plummeted by 24 percent compared to the first quarter.
The statistics for Dhiraagu’s second quarter shows that the company had received a net profit of MVR 194.1 million in the second quarter, which is a decrease of MVR 61.4 million from the first. However, the profit for this year’s second quarter is an increase of MVR 12.2 million from the previous year’s.
According to Dhiraagu’s quarterly report, the net profit for the second quarter had decreased by 13 percent from the first quarter. The report attributed the drop to the low tourist season, which also lowered the usage of international Roaming service.
The statistics show that the revenue for this year’s second quarter was MVR 577.3 million, while the numbers had been MVR 664.8 million during the previous quarter.
The profit per share for Dhiraagu’s second quarter was MVR 2.55.
