Maldives Police Service officers have received a raise in their basic salaries February.

Sources confirmed that the police’s pay increment was approved early February.

The additional increment goes up to MVR 1500 for high-ranking officials, which includes captains and chief inspectors of the police service.

Mihaaru is aware that the new increments will only be enforced end of March.

The police’s pay raise comes at a time when President Abdulla Yameen highly commended the work of police officers in preventing an alleged attempt to overthrow the government by using the judiciary.
