Former vice president Ahmed Adheeb was transferred to Maafushi Prison from Dhoonidhoo Detention Center again on Tuesday.
Adheeb is serving a 33-year sentence for several convictions including terrorism.
His lawyer Moosa Siraj confirmed that Aheeb was shifted again, adding that Maldives Correctional Service did not state the reason for his transfer.
Ahdeeb was first moved from Dhoonidhoo to Maafushi early this month in the wake of the Supreme Court's landmark ruling to free political prisoners including him. However, he was shifted back to Dhoonidhoo last Thursday.
Siraj also said that they are not sure if meetings with his family and lawyers will be allowed in Maafushi. He said that it is very concerning that Adheeb is being shifted from one location to the other.
Adheeb's lawyers had stated that his health has been deteriorating over the past days.
